Kids Are Virtually Guided Through the Process by Grant Smith, Code Ninjas VP of Education

Grant Smith, Code Ninjas VP of Education, coding with Scratch

During this time of at-home schooling, working, playing — at-home everything, really — our kids are glued to screens more often than not. If their schools are able, some of that time may consist of learning and interacting with peers or their teacher. Most of it, however, is likely used to watch shows, TikToks, or play games.

While having fun is important — especially during this time — Code Ninjas wants to challenge your kids to use their screen time creatively while trying their hand at coding!

That is why Code Ninjas VP of Education Grant Smith put together the video below for kids to learn how to program their own game while practicing social distancing. All that you need to do before getting started is to visit scratch.mit.edu, click the CREATE tab at the top, start the video and follow along. But most of all, remember to have fun!

If this inspires your kid to do more — Code Ninjas is offering at-home coding challenges and activities. Visit codeninjas.com/locations to find and contact a center near you to learn more!

Founded in 2016, Code Ninjas® is the world’s largest and fastest-growing kids coding franchise, with more than 200 locations open across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
