Code Ninjas Camps Are Back with Exciting New Offerings for 2019
Spark your child’s inner ninja with engaging topics like game development, coding, apps, drones, and robotics.
When school is out, fun and learning are in at Code Ninjas camps! This year, we are DOUBLING our camp offerings* with exciting new technology topics. If your kids are into apps, robotics, coding, or gaming, Code Ninjas is the place to be! Read on to learn about the new camps available this year.
New Camps for 2019
App Builders’ Club
App Builders’ Club is a camp where ninjas will develop an app from start to finish. The first day will be focused on brainstorming potential app ideas. After that, ninjas will bring those ideas to life through the MIT App Inventor framework and successfully build an app that’s truly their own!
Build & Browse
Build & Browse camp covers the essential tools that are the foundation of almost every site on the World Wide Web! Ninjas will utilize HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Canvas to not only learn how to develop web applications, but also how to make them stand out. At the end of the camp, ninjas will have the skills to create jaw-dropping websites that are limited only by their imagination!
Hack Attack!
In the Hack Attack! camp, ninjas will dive into playtesting and debugging concepts used within game development. The camp utilizes gamification to make learning both fun and interactive! Ninjas will be challenged through a series of puzzles and escape room-type games.
RoboPRO: Beginners
In RoboPRO: Beginners camp, ninjas will explore the wonders of robotics by utilizing the Ninja Toolbox to its full potential. The Ninja Toolbox is a Code Ninjas-exclusive robotics kit that contains a variety of items, from Ninja Blocks and LEDs, to motors and sensors. Each day, ninjas will work through progressively more complex projects that will teach them engineering and programming at the same time. May require a Ninja Toolbox purchase.
RoboPRO: Advanced
Already a robotics pro? The RoboPRO: Advanced camp features higher-level programming and robotics engineering projects through the Ninja Toolbox++. The Ninja Toolbox++ is an expansion to our original Ninja Toolbox, a Code Ninjas-exclusive robotics kit. Basic robotics knowledge required. May require a Ninja Toolbox purchase.
Snap It Together
In Snap It Together camp, ninjas will receive hands-on experience in circuitry as they learn about electronics through Ninja Circuits, a Code Ninjas-exclusive snap circuits kit. Ninjas will complete multiple projects that display robotics at a more macro level, and will ultimately discover how electricity interacts with various elements.
Existing Camp Lineup
Beginning JavaScript
In Beginning JavaScript, ninjas learn how to create games using one of the most popular coding languages in the world, starting day one! As they progress, ninjas will be challenged to create several JavaScript applications that can run in a browser or even on a server using node.js. By the end of this camp, ninjas will gain the knowledge and experience needed to code on their own using JavaScript! It’s not strictly game-based, so ninjas who join this camp should be looking for a deeper understanding of real coding.
Code Drones
Code Drones camp allows ninjas to watch their code come to life as they build, set up and program their own drone! Ninjas will learn how to skillfully control their drone through code to perform a series of tricks and follow predefined flight paths. Then, they’ll set their own drone challenges to master!
Game Builders’ Club
Game Builder’s Club is a camp where ninjas will build their very own video game each day, and have a blast every step of the way! Games are made in Scratch, a kid-friendly, visual programming language. This camp is fantastic for children of all experience levels to flex their creative muscles and strengthen their problem-solving skills, all while having a great time.
Minecraft Create
In Minecraft Create, ninjas will build custom objects and import them into their very own Minecraft world! Designed for all ages and levels of experience, this camp provides an excellent environment for your child to edit and model their own 3D objects, practice solving Redstone circuit puzzles, and interact with fellow Minecraft lovers. Minecraft Create features a series of projects utilizing multiple programs and is not textbook-based — it is instead fully guided by our awesome team of Code Senseis®! Minecraft account required.
Roblox Create
In Roblox Create camp, ninjas learn the basics of game building and creative development in Roblox, a fun, user-generated online gaming platform like Minecraft. Through Roblox, your child can create much more than just a game! Open to all levels of experience, this camp will teach ninjas on how to plan, design, and build their own 3D world! Roblox Create is not textbook-based — it is instead fully guided by our awesome team of Code Senseis®! Roblox Classic Tier account required.
All camps above recommended for kids ages 7–14 except Hack Attack!, which is recommended for kids ages 10–14, plus completion of either the Yellow Belt or the Beginning JavaScript camp.
